Tonight is also attended by College teachers, students, partners, family, friends and employers. The Liverpool catholic Club has afforded us $100.00 worth of Raffle Prizes. The board has topped this up with a further budget of $200.00, plus a Meat Tray and a Breakfast Tray. We welcome all and look forward to an enjoyable night.
A certificate has also been afforded at their College Graduation nights as held by the individual faculties.
The Rotary Club of Liverpool West Student’s Honour Role, which now consists of 2 wooden plaques, is displayed at Campus listing chronologically each winner and the faculty since 1978, following the Colleges establishment in 1977. The first overall winner then recorded is I. Pollard of Electrical in 1978.

Ngoc Thanh (Sally) Quan, Child Studies
Trent Steed for Carpentry & Joinery

We also welcome partners family and friends.
Only one Student from each Faculty is chosen by their teachers in any one year. Teachers consider Academic results, the personal contributions made by the student to the classroom learning environment and the initiatives of the student to further advance their own education and/or standing in the community. There is no obligation of a teacher to choose an outstanding student, meaning all of the students chosen are more than likely deserving of their name and faculty being added to the honour board. Rotarians interview the students and are left to split hairs and make a selection and or draw straws.
The awards are considered prestigious thanks to the outstanding support of the Miller College Teachers and Staff, with Inga Milenkovic of Administration having coordinated the awards for many years. In 2011 we welcome attendance tonight of the following teachers;
From Child Studies;
Head Teacher: Sherelyn Overson, Teachers: Gillian Poynting-Gorn and Jan Moffatt
From Information Technology;
Head Teacher: Allison Irvine, Teachers: John Dixon, Eric Tsingos, Walter Alvarez and Technical Assistant Information Technology: Tony Lim
Head Teachers for Carpentry & Joinery: John Quine, for Engineering Trades: Kelvin Halls and wife and for Electrical: Allan Fryer with apologies from Michael Landers normally here each year.
We also welcome from Nepean Engineering general Manager Dushyant Sangar and Phil King who are hear proudly to support their employee and nominee for Sheet Metal: Justin Laird.
Along with our members including Satellite members we thank all for their support.

JOKES
How did I get hear?
A fifth grader asked her mother the age-old question,
'How did I get here?'
Her mother told her, 'God sent you.'
'Did God send you, too?' asked the child.
'Yes, Dear,' the mother replied.
'What about Grandma and Grandpa?' the child persisted
'He sent them also,' the mother said.
'Did he send their parents, too?' asked the child.
'Yes, Dear, He did,' said the mother patiently.
'So you're telling me that there has been NO sex in this family for 200 years?
No wonder everyone's so grouchy around here!'
The Algebra Movement and Weapons of Maths Instruction
At Sydney airport yesterday an individual, later discovered to be a public school teacher, was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a square, a slide rule, and a calculator.
The Attorney General believes the man is a member of the notorious Algebra movement. He is being charged with carrying weapons of math instruction.
"Algebra is a very fearsome cult, indeed", the Attorney General said. "They desire average solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on a tangent in a search of absolute value. They consist of quite shadowy figures, with names like "x" and "y", and, although they are frequently referred to as "unknowns", we know they really belong to a common denominator and are part of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country.
"As the great Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, there are three sides to every triangle." When asked to comment on the arrest, Opposition Leader, Tony Abbott, said, "If God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, He would have given us more fingers and toes."
