Joint Winners were announced for the first time since 1978.and to have their names etched as 2010 recipients on the Rotary Club of Liverpool West Pride of Workmanship Award on the honour board are: Ngoc Thanh (Sally) Quan of Child Studies, residing at Cabramatta and Gregory Benge of Information Technology, residing at Miller, who were well accepted without taking anything away from the other very deserving Nominees.

I believe the situation for the judges was summed up nicely during speeches by the teachers on their nominees by Kelvin Halls who spoke on Justin Laird nominated for Sheet Metal and having heard the deliberations on the other nominees said we all turn up here believing our nominee is the best and from what I have just heard each of the faculties has nominated the winning candidate but nobody could be more proud then those  here tonight to support their nominee  for sheet metal including Nepean Engineering General Manager Dushyant Sangar and Phil King

Each of the nominees received a cheque for $250.00, a Plaque and a Dinner entitlement on this night for two costing $40.00 pp. a certificate was then presented to each on their College Graduation nights. The Joint Honour Awardees then collected an additional cheque for $250.00 each.

Joint Honour Awarded: Gregory Benge is an Indigenous mature aged student having worked his way through from Certificate II in IT (General) to completing Certificate IV in 2010 and is half way through his Diploma while caring for his mother without the aid of an internet connection at home.

Letter received to the Rotary Club of Liverpool West from the College

I have received numerous responses today in relation to the presentation function.  All who attended were very impressed and commended Liverpool West Rotary on the way it was presented.  Child Studies were absolutely ecstatic.

I was led to believe that the food was excellent; however comments were that it was a wee bit expensive.

Please thank all for their ongoing support, and once again a BIG THANK YOU to you.
