Regardless of the weather, the bi-monthly BBQ/fundraiser took place on Sunday. The rain, biting wind and cold conditions did not deter the volunteers from attending and helping with proceedings.

A warm bed on a true Sydney winter Sunday was given up by the brave to raise a few dollars for the cause. It was evident early in the day that the crowds would be very low, however, those who did visit the stall were very generous and thankful for a serving of some hot "Master Chef" prepared bacon and egg rolls.

The usual Sunday crowds in Cabramatta were low and the takings on the day were not to the usual levels. However, all contributions are thankfully accepted. The generosity of the community was again experienced.

Sincere appreciation is expressed to all those who attended.

The next big event, following the trip to Vietnam, is the Cabramatta Moon Festival on Sunday 4 September 2011. Pencil the day into your diaries, this is a big day and a big attendance of volunteers is expected. It is Father's Day; bring your family to Cabramatta for a "big day out".

Photos from the day showing that no matter how miserable the weather, VVP and Rotary members can still enjoy each others company and make the most of a slow situation.
