 Carolyn O’Connor, a member of the Rotary Club of Liverpool and teacher at Glenfield Park School will join us on Tuesday Night 28 June 2011 as our guest speaker together with School Principal Karen Willis and is seeking help with refurbishing the school located at Roy Watts Rd Glenfield NSW.

Glenfield Park School is a School for Specific Purposes that provides an educational alternative for forty-two students from the ages of seven to sixteen years who have a mild level of intellectual deficit together with high support needs due to severe emotional or behavioural disorders and learning difficulties.

Now in its second year of operation, Linda will come to our club to give us an update. Last year our club sponsored the programme assisting in the subsidisation of the cost of members from families that struggle financially.

We say thankyou to President Peter Beadle and his Board for the year that was and welcome Incoming President Ted Mlynarz and his Board. Entertainment will be a variety of Attractive & Talented Female Singers with a Talented Backing Band. We will be in the main Function Room of the Liverpool Catholic Club, with ticket costs of $65.00 including a 2 course meal, beer, wine, soft drinks & Entertainment. Sun 24 July 2011Children’s Christmas in July Spectacular – LCC, 10 am to 1.30 pm - $5 per family

The Rotary Club of Liverpool Greenway will hold its Children’s Christmas in July Spectacular for children with special needs and their siblings. Our Member Peter Anjos has donated a couple of swags of toys and President June Young would be pleased if we passed on invitations to children with special needs. Sun 21 Aug 2011 - Australian Welsh Choir – Casula Power House – 2 pm - $30.00 pp

The Rotary Club of Liverpool Greenway and Rotary Club of Liverpool will be holding a concert of the Australian Welsh Choir at the Powerhouse on 21st August, instead of the Art Show.  Tickets will be $30.00 and bookings will be made through the Powerhouse.  The commencement time is 2pm.  Savouries and drinks will be served after the show at approximately 4.30pm.  The two Rotary clubs will be doing the catering the same as when we had the Art Show.

Tues 20 Sep 2011 – The Combined Rotary Clubs of Liverpool Police Officer of the Year – 6.30 pm - $45.00 pp

The 13th Annual Liverpool Police Officer of the Year recognises both Liverpool and Green Valley Local Area Commands. Winners will advance to the NSW Police Officer of the Year. This is a highlighted event of the Liverpool Calendar with 250 persons attending last year and with the same successful formulae employed this year of outstanding entertainment, dinner, drinks and awards for $45.00. Our Golf Day will be held on Wednesday 19 Oct 2011 at Camden Lakeside Golf Resort with proceeds going to Australian Rotary Health in support of medical research. More details to be made available soon.

8,9,10 Dec 2011 – Ted’s Rotary Xmas Adventure – Bateman’s Bay

The annual Xmas adventure will be to Batemans Bay over the weekend of 8, 9 &10 Dec 11. Members are asked to indicate their interest to enable sufficient bookings at this time. Full details of cost and accommodation are to be provided.  - Members, partners, family invited to attend for full three days, or overnight on Saturday, as convenient. There’s plenty to do, including Mogo Zoo.

Fri – Sun Mar 23-25, 2012 – Rotary District 9690 Conference – Panthers Colosseum, Penrith

Business sessions restricted to Friday and Saturday only. Sunday will be Stay and Play. Stay on site at Panthers at the Chifley Hotel and take in a casual long breakfast on Sunday, play golf, visit local attractions, take in lunch on the river or join us at Penrith Lakes for a Sail ability demonstration and trial. Saturday night will be a toga party! Don’t like a toga? Then: how about a group of; Senators, Gladiators, Centurions or Slaves? The conference theme is then Looking Forward – Looking Back
