Henni Niemi with Tris and Indra Rudling at Binnalong

Henni Niemi of Finland gave her farewell presentation to the Club on 14 June 2011 before a farewell BBQ on the 18th of June and departing on the 20th. Henni chose over a 100 photos to remember her experience in Australia from which she made 8 collages to present to us on power point and of which the collage of her 18th Birthday celebrated at Wallacia on 15 April. All the photos from her presentation are then available on our website Gallery in 2 Albums located under the parent album: General.

Henni was hosted by Peter and Margaret Beadle, Peter and Barbara Houghton and Charles and Valerie Hili.

Henni attended Hurlstone Agricultural School and covered much of Australia with the generosity of her hosts and the Rotary Organised Safari covering places in NSW, Vic, Qld, NT, WA and Tas.

Henni reported that it was a very long time before she could understand Australian English and the most surprising thing about Australia was the extent of multiculturalism. After a year in Australia, Henni also reported she now dreams in English and looks very forward to making a return trip to Australia at some future stage. The pictures Henni chose to base her presentation on show lots of excursions, sporting events, changing scenery and Australian animals.

Members found Henni to be a very impressive young lady and wish her the best for the future.
