Sat 16 July 2011 – The Rotary Club of Liverpool West Changeover – LCC, 6.30 for 7 pm - $65.00 pp

We say thankyou to President Peter Beadle and his Board for the year that was and welcome Incoming President Ted Mlynarz and his Board. Entertainment will be a variety of Attractive & Talented Female Singers with a Talented Backing Band. We will be in the main Function Room of the Liverpool Catholic Club, with ticket costs of $65.00 including a 2 course meal, beer, wine, soft drinks & Entertainment.
 
Tues 19 July 2011 - Green Valley Police Youth Camp – Constable Mary Bakijovski – LCC, 6 for 6.30 pm

As listed under Projects on our website: “This annual youth camp organised by the Green Valley Local Area Police Command take local teenagers who have come to the notice of the command on a weekend camp. The police officers volunteer their time to work with these kids and have had great success in building ongoing relationships. This camp has proved its worth year after year with a virtual zero re-offend instances”.

Youth Liaison Officer: Mary is then coming to sure up what support is available for the camp to be held this November.

Crime Prevention Officer: Constable Cisco Retamales may also be in attendance and may tell us of his own ideas for preventing crime in our community and may offer a role for us at the same time to assist in realising a more positive local community.

Sun 24 July 2011Children’s Christmas in July Spectacular – LCC, 10 am to 1.30 pm - $5 per family

The Rotary Club of Liverpool Greenway will hold its Children’s Christmas in July Spectacular for children with special needs and their siblings. Our Member Peter Anjos has donated a couple of swags of toys and President June Young would be pleased if we passed on invitations to children with special needs. While the cats away the mice will play. With President Ted in Vietnam, Immediate Past President Peter will organise a restaurant night in place of our meeting.

A casual and informal get together will replace this weeks meeting

Tues 16 Aug 2011 – The Eggtober Foundation – Dr Felix Chan & Co - LCC, 6 for 6.30 pm – Partners welcome

The Foundation is a newly formed charity raising awareness and funds for gynaecological cancers. In NSW 1999-2003 the 5 year survival rate for females diagnosed with Ovarian cancer was 42%, Uterine cancer was 70% and Cervical cancer was 73%, compared with an 88% survival rate for breast cancer. Dr Felix Chan will be in attendance with Catherine Potter and Lynda Chamberlain.

Sat 20/Sun 21 Aug                RAWCS Eastern Region Meeting at Hunts Comfort Inn

This is an ideal opportunity to see RAWCS in action. The Saturday Night Dinner is then a highlight. Our club has three current RAWCS registered projects and this could prove to be a valuable experience. More information may be expected. www.rawcseastern.org.au

Sun 21 Aug 2011 - Australian Welsh Choir – Casula Power House – 2 pm - $30.00 pp

The Rotary Club of Liverpool Greenway and Rotary Club of Liverpool will be holding a concert of the Australian Welsh Choir at the Powerhouse on 21st August, instead of the Art Show.  Tickets will be $30.00 and bookings will be made through the Powerhouse.  The commencement time is 2pm.  Savouries and drinks will be served after the show at approximately 4.30pm.  The two Rotary clubs will be doing the catering the same as when we had the Art Show.

Tues 23 Aug - VVP Trip Report – Bach Dang Restaurant, 46 Canley Vale Road, Canley Vale, 6.30 for 7 pm

We will receive a report from our members on their Vietnam Vision 2011 Trip experiences, with the mission this year performing both Cataract operations and dental services for poor persons in rural Vietnam. They will also be exploring the possibility of further work in Laos. 7 of our members and 5 from the Satellite club plus some partners will have attended this year’s mission.

In aid of Diabetes, Alzheimer’s and the Garvan Institute, to be held at the ROMA Function Centre, 167a Northumberland Street, Liverpool. Dress – Formal/Black Tie with Mask. Tues 20 Sep 2011 – The Combined Rotary Clubs of Liverpool Police Officer of the Year – 6.30 pm - $45.00 pp

The 13th Annual Liverpool Police Officer of the Year recognises both Liverpool and Green Valley Local Area Commands. Winners will advance to the NSW Police Officer of the Year. This is a highlighted event of the Liverpool Calendar with 250 persons attending last year and with the same successful formulae employed this year of outstanding entertainment, dinner, drinks and awards for $45.00. Wed 19 Oct 2011 – The Alec Muggleton 4 Ball Ambrose Charity Golf Day – Our Annual Fundraiser

Our Golf Day will be held on Wednesday 19 Oct 2011 at Camden Lakeside Golf Resort with proceeds going to Australian Rotary Health in support of medical research. $100 Golf, drinks and lunch, $50 Dinner, $125 for both, Sponsorship $1,000.00 for 4 persons includes all. Carts provided.

8,9,10 Dec 2011 – Ted’s Rotary Xmas Adventure – Bateman’s Bay

The annual Xmas adventure will be to Batemans Bay over the weekend of 8, 9 &10 Dec 11. Members are asked to indicate their interest to enable sufficient bookings at this time. Full details of cost and accommodation are to be provided.  - Members, partners, family invited to attend for full three days, or overnight on Saturday, as convenient. There’s plenty to do, including Mogo Zoo.
