Youth Liaison Officer: Mary is then coming to sure up what support is available for the camp to be held this November.
Crime Prevention Officer: Constable Cisco Retamales may also be in attendance and may tell us of his own ideas for preventing crime in our community and may offer a role for us at the same time to assist in realising a more positive local community.
CLUB REVIEW & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Secretaries report of meeting 5 July 2011
In what would have been President Peter Beadles’ last time in the chair had it not been for a necessary medical procedure, past president Charlie warmed the chair instead. To his right was incumbent president Ted who is already displaying an eagerness to don the presidential collar and impart his own brand of Rotarian justice. He will however have to wait until 19 July, as he is not crowned king until 16th July, then a two week VVP trip to Vietnam will not see him take his throne again until 9th August.
Tonight we welcomed back member Adam Whyte and his lovely wife Linda. Adam has been unable to attend our regular meetings due to his pressing duties in his roles as chief of staff with The NSW Police Commissioner. Linda was in attendance to update us on the progress of The Casula Physical Culture Club which our club has supported in the past. Linda explained that it is a non for profit club which still requires support so that costumes could be made available to those girls whose families could not afford same. The funds would also go towards procuring trophies and certificates. On behalf of the club, Shann O’Connell presented Linda with a cheque for $1,500.00 which could go a long way to ensuring this vital community project remains on track.
Our other guests were formally welcomed to our club by outgoing first lady, Margaret Beadle. Margaret is one of the special staff that looks after children and young adults at The Cecil Hills High School Support Unit. Again, this is a community based project that our club has been supporting for a number of years by way of funding the annual camp they attend. Head Teacher, Mary Lukose gave a presentation which highlighted the difficulties faced by Teachers Aids when dealing with children and young adults with special needs. These difficulties are not just the domain of the teachers, as the children and young adults themselves face adversity every day when dealing with chores us lucky people treat as mundane. Jimmy Leahy handed over a cheque for $6125.00 which will cover the fees for 35 disadvantaged children to attend this year’s camp and we look forward to catching up with Mary Lukose, Maria Sanfilippo, Wendy Holmes and Mary Citroni when we host them again next year.
I am informed our Exchange Student Henni is now in the loving arms of her family back in Finland. Host Mum Margaret Beadle is pining for her and who would blame her. Henni is vivacious young women who added some glamour to our club over the last twelve months. Hopefully she will stay in touch and maybe one day return to tell us just how spending one year with our club affected her life.
Regards
Charlie
PS. Ted and I will try sending a report from Vietnam while we are entrenched there with The VVP team.

JOKES
One-Liners;
My husband and I divorced over religious differences. He thought he was God and I didn't.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.
I'm not a complete idiot -- Some parts are missing.
Ever stop to think, and forget to start again?
Ham and eggs: a day's work for a chicken, a lifetime commitment for a pig. (How true)
Try as you may to be a good Role Model
How do we expect kids to listen to their parents, Tarzan lives half naked, Cinderella comes home at midnight, Pinocchio lies all the time. Aladdin is the king of thieves, batman drives at 200 mph, sleeping beauty is lazy, and snow white lives with 7 blokes. We shouldn't be surprised when kids misbehave; they get it from their story books.
