Ann is a local resident of Mount Pritchard, currently 73 years old and has been working for the AMF bowling Centre for 29 years
On a completely voluntary basis, Ann first established and has run a social group, currently 22 strong, for the past 18 years for persons in the local community with disabilities, known as the Saturday Friends and has organised weekly games at AMF and presentation nights, with no personal attachment, but simply because she recognised the need.
For the past 10 years, Ann has also baked as many as 30 doz. Biscuits and other delights on a monthly basis for the Ronald McDonald House and provided essentials such as toiletries to visitors residing at the house on short notice. Other disadvantaged social groups are then also recipients of her baked delights.
For 2 weeks a year, for the past 12 years, Ann has also volunteered her time to wrap Christmas presents at the Fairfield Forum Shopping Centre.
Ann then somehow also finds time to assist others in her local area with tasks such as ironing, when she finds that they are not well enough to cope for themselves.
Following a submission by Tony Stuart, who assists with the care of his brother Paul, a member of the Saturday Friends, Ann was proudly presented with A Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary club of Liverpool West on the Presidents changeover night of 16 July, with the honours performed by outgoing President Peter Beadle.
