People are in need of blood each and every day. I have had people close to me require blood, whether it is for cancer, for blood transfusions during their pregnancy or for an accident. Some people require blood on an ongoing basis and if it wasn’t for our support, they would not be able to live. I have been approached by strangers many times and personally thanked for donating blood. Did you know 1 in 3 people will need blood? Only 1 in 30 gives blood.
Today, we made a difference.
We had a fair few first time blood donors and also had a few long term donors who had not been to donate blood for a while due to their busy schedules or circumstances.
A very, very, big thank you for everyone’s support! There were 19 attendees in total with 13 of them who were eligible to roll up their sleeves and give blood. We collectively saved 39 lives! That is a great effort especially during this Christmas period when supplies are low! The blood bank is one of very few businesses that aren’t in business for money and for that it has all my support!
