Liverpool City Art Prize

This will be held at the new Casula Powerhouse and is being conducted in partnership with the Rotary Clubs of, Liverpool, Liverpool West and Liverpool Greenway. This is the recommencement of this Exhibition and the annual Liverpool City Art Prize (LACP) originally established and run for many years by Liverpool West.

This is a national competition, with a $10,000 prize for the overall winner, the LACP is open to Australian artists of all levels, regardless of age or location. LACP is open themed, appealing to a broad range of styles; from the emerging to the established, contemporary to traditional, from sculpture and painting to new media.

The 2009 Liverpool City Art Prize also includes 4 additional acquisitive awards of $1,000 each and 2 children's awards of $250 each. Prizes include:

• Liverpool City Art Prize Overall Winner
• $10,000 - Open to all artists in Australia
• Two Dimensional Traditional Prize
• $1,000 - Any two dimensional work including acrylic, oil, mixed media on paper, board or canvas.
• Two Dimensional Contemporary Prize
• $1,000 - Any two dimensional work including acrylic, oil, mixed media on paper, board or canvas.
• Photography/Digital Prize
• $1,000 - Any digital work including photography, new media, sound and interactive work.
• Sculpture/Three Dimensional Work Prize
• $1,000 - Any three dimensional Work including sculpture, installation.
• Children’s Prizes
• (Primary) $250 – Open to any artist aged 3-12 years of age
• (Secondary) $250 – Open to any artist aged 13-18 years of age

• Official Launch: Saturday, 14 November 2009 - 5 to 7 p.m.
• The organising Committee is looking for sponsors for these award, and asking each Club to find a sponsor.
