Rotary Club of Liverpool West Inc.

Our club will be having a Vietnam Vision Presentation on 17th Nov 2009 here at Liverpool Catholic Club.

In August and September of this year, four members of our club joined 30 other enthusiastic doctors, optometrists, nurses and support staff from different parts of Australia, representing different ethnicities on a 14 day tour of impoverished areas of Vietnam and Cambodia. The team performed over 500 sight restoring cataract removal surgeries and over 200 eye checks in this time. This is a monumental achievement and it happens every year. To say that this was trip was an adventure is an understatement, it was simply mind blowing.

Dr Vo, chairman of VVP and other senior members of the organization will be attending this function and will make the presentation with the help of a DVD showing footage taken while in Vietnam and Cambodia. This is sure to impress all in attendance and I dearly want as many of you to see what we experienced. The opportunity will also be taken to present 3 remarkable people with Paul Harris Fellows.

This particular night can also serve to showcase to prospective new members one of the many exciting projects our club is involved in. Therefore, if you have any acquaintances you feel can make a good Rotarian, please bring them along. Who knows, we may pick up a new member or at the very least give them an entertaining night.
