Last night, over sixty members, friends and guests representing the five zone clubs (Liverpool, Liverpool West, Liverpool Greenway, Cabramatta & Wetherill Park) attended the inbound Canadian Group Study Exchange presentation at Liverpool Catholic Club.
From the outset, it was obvious that our Canadian guests were thoroughly enjoying their time here. They mingled freely with guests while displaying their gregarious nature, a point that had not gone unnoticed by those who had already met, or in some cases hosted the weary travellers.
In the last few days, Bill, Adam, Cora-lee, Nicole and Amie have filled a schedule that most would need a further holiday to recover from. They have visited a dairy farm, a rose farm, skied on Lake Macquarie, eaten, drank, visited wineries, forests, hotels, schools, drank and ate some more, attended meetings and a networking night, had vocational visits and then found time to eat and drink even more.
My family has hosted Cora Lee Dunbar the last few days and can testify to her outgoing and infectious personality. It has been a busy, laughter filled few days that my family and I will cherish for ever. It is going to be hard to adjust once she has been delivered to her new family on Thursday morning. I think all other hosts are feeling the same way; however we have made life friends from these five fascinating individuals and that can not be taken away from us. We wish them all the best for the remainder of their stay in Australia and wish them safe passage home at the end of it.
Thank you to the other club Presidents and members who attended last night to help with all the formalities of the evening. It all went towards making it a very memorable evening.
