The Rotary Club of Liverpool West is providing funding for this 3 year Scholarship the subject of the thesis is to be “Investigating the Role of Metals for Treatment of Cancer”. It is hoped that the investigation done will compliment the research previously funded by our club and carried out by Prof, Des Richardson and his team at Sydney University.
The scholarship provides a PhD student with tax free funds of $29,000 p.a. for 3 years with the option of a further 6 month extension.
Our contribution to this will be $33,000 ($38,500 if an extension id granted, this is matched by the student’s University and Australian Rotary Health will contribute a minimum of $21,000.
Australian Rotary Health has received our proposal and will advertise the scholarship in September with a closing date for applications of early December. The Scholarship will run from the beginning of 2011.
