Rotarians
A lot has happened in 2 weeks:
Changeover was a great success, the band was good and Rotarians were observed on the dance floor (after some prompting). The raffle raised over $1400 with a different distribution of prizes to usual (tough the Gibbs still went home with another TV). Special thanks to Adam Whyte (in the amazing dress uniform), Ted Mlynarz, Bob Groat, Kevin Walker, Bob Cook and LCC for their support on the night.
Secretary and treasurer badges will be awarded when we on a club night when we have current and former secretaries and treasurers all present.
Positive news Steve Alexander’s wife Cheryle is recovering well and Frans Buskermolen is home from hospital after his stroke scare. I'd urge you all to have a look at the National Stroke Foundation website (http://www.strokefoundation.com.au ) and learn the early sings of stroke/aneurism. If identified quickly and treated in hospital there is a high rate of recovery.
The Oz Harvest was a presentation was a resounding success with Roni recounting what se has been able to achieve. Over 4 million meals for families in NSW from food that would otherwise become landfill is a remarkable humanitarian and environmental achievement.
On Sunday our incoming exchange student Henni Niemi arrived along with some other Finnish students for the district. She was given about 20 minutes to settle in before going clothes shopping for a dress for a Sudanese wedding with her host family. A fun time was had by all. Henni is having "work experience" with Margaret beadle as the special education unit at Cecil Hills High School today before starting at Hurlstone on Tuesday. Our outgoing exchange student Adrian is shifting host families this week after being caught unawares that he is now half way through his exchange.
