ShelterBox is the organisation nominated by RI for contributing to emergency shelter disaster relief efforts.
ShelterBox Australia is then the new affiliate in Australia of ShelterBox and promotion of is heavily featured on the front page of District 9690 website with direct links.
There is a current move towards the transforming of ShelterBox Australia into a multi-District organisation of Rotary International Zone 8 of which district 9690 belongs to,so that the Rotary support would be clear and enabling the Rotary mark to be incorporated into all its dealings, in a similar matter to ROMAC/RAWCS etc. More transparency and better governance is than sort as part of the deal. An office has been established in Thornleigh NSW
We are asked to vote Yes or no as a club to; ‘the transforming of ShelterBox Australia into a multi-District organisation of Rotary International Zone 8,’ and return that vote to district by 10 Dec 2010.
The club vote will be held at our meeting on 30 November 2010
