As things stand we expect to fund raise between 40 & 55 Thousand Dollars. The Rotary Network will be used to ensure every dollar goes to persons in need as a result of the Queensland Flood.

Whilst not primarily a first response relief organisation, many Rotarian's are at present actively involved in clean-ups, emergency accommodation and supplies and supplying meals for displaced families and relief helpers.
The most important role of his group as long term, assisting families, individuals and community groups ‘slipping through the cracks’ of insurance and government support
This recovery phase is seen as an ongoing operation for many months.
Rotary has 3 Districts badly affected by the Queensland Flood: Districts 9570 taking in Central Queensland, 9600 taking in South East Queensland, Papua New Guinea & Nauru while district 9630 taking in Brisbane and the Outback.
As of 30 June 2010, District 9570 had 1174 members and district 9630 had 1271 members. District 9600 has more than 1700 members. We therefore have many members already on the ground providing our network to ensure that 100% of funds get to where they are needed. The boards of the clubs will authorise where funds are distributed and club financials are audited.
The following notice has also been received from each of these districts;
“We have already plenty of clothing, bed linen, white goods etc. – we do not require anymore”
You may also register your interest for tickets, sponsorship or to donate goods for raffles or auction by emailing us at: or call one of the phone numbers offered on the Flood appeal Dinner Flyer.
The Rotary club of Liverpool West has specifically been assigned the task of collecting 3 to 5 quality items for a Live Auction to be held on this night and would appreciate any assistance our readers may be able to offer in relation to any donation of cash or prize and/or we would love to have you join us on the night.

Sponsorships are tax deductible and we have applied for a tax concession status to make donations on the night tax deductible with confirmation being sort from the ATO. If this occurs, 30% of the cost of Dinner Tickets will also be tax deductible and we will need record address details for receipts.
