Wed 23 Feb 2011- Conviction – Greater Union Westfield’s Liverpool, 6.30 pm
20th Century Foxhave afforded Rotary Clubs nationally a Pre-Release viewing of the movie Conviction, with all funds raised to go towards the $200,000.00 Rotary is set to raise to receive a Matching Grant from Bill Gates for $355,000.00, to make the vision of 1978 Australian Rotary International President, Sir Clem Renouf, to eradicate the scourge of Polio from the world, a reality.
Polio can return to any country while soever a single person carries the disease.
CONVICTION the movie is the inspirational true story of a sister's unwavering devotion to her older brother Kenny when he is arrested for murder and sentenced to life, Hilary Swank stars as Betty Anne Walters’, a mother of two, who dedicates her life to overturning the conviction.
Tickets are on sale now, $25 pp, including Pastizzi and refreshments.

Thur 24 Feb 2011 – Books for Babies
The three Presidents of Liverpool Rotary Clubs or their representatives will present books to babies born at Liverpool Hospital on Wed 23 Feb marking the 106th anniversary of the beginning of Rotary. The books are to be by an Australian Author and carry a Rotary inscription allowing inclusion for the Babies name.

This night brought to you by the three Rotary Clubs of Liverpool and the Rotary Club of Cabramatta promises to be truly special, for the people attending it and for the good that will be realised for fellow Australians. 2011 OAM: June Young has organised top entertainment in the form of Male Vocalists: Drew Ashley, the Glenda Yee dancers and is working on confirmation of another headline group. 2007 OAM Harry Hunt of Comfort Inn Hunts Liverpool will donate seafood, beer, wine and soft drink provisions for 350 guests on the night. There will be raffles, wine draw and auctions. This is a community ticketed event with tables of 10 Every dollar raised is promised only to persons in need, with no administration costs and in only the way Rotary can with its network of Volunteers.
Liverpool West Members will need to secure tickets for themselves and friends at our meeting on 15 February with the meetings in the week before an after 15 February, being away events.

The Rotary Clubs of Liverpool and Liverpool Greenway will team up to argue: No it won’t.

Sat 12 Mar 2011 - Multi District President Elects Training Seminar, LCC
The three Rotary Clubs of Liverpool together with the Rotary Club of Cabramatta will cater for lunch to be held between 12.15 and 1.15 pm on this day for approx 300 President Elects. At least 4 volunteers are required from each club for preparations and an additional minimum of 4 volunteers from each club are required for site set up and serving. Preparation will take place at Hunts Kitchen between 9 am and 12 noon to prepare wraps and rolls, while serving volunteers will be asked to be on site at LCC from 11 am to 2 pm.
Each club is required to provide eskies or tubs for cooling drinks. Tony Scarfone of Liverpool Greenway will purchase Bottled Water, Liverpool West is to purchase and deliver 300 soft drinks, 100 Coke, 100 Solo and 100 Coke Zero. The finances will then be managed either by the Cabramatta Club or Liverpool Club.
The 8 volunteers’ minimum we require will need be additional to our members rostered on for the Saturdays Growers Market and our esky arrangement will need be in addition to what we use at the Growers Market.

A conducted tour of the Mercure Hotel has been organised with Hotel Manager Chris Donavan, who will then join our meeting in the Garden Room Restaurant and provide us with a talk on management of the Hotel.

Special Guests on this night will be Joyce and Hilton Harmer, who spent more than 40 years working at the front line for the Salvation Army and nearly a decade as court chaplains before retiring in August 2004.
Joyce visited up to 32 courts every day looking for people that needed help.
Liverpool West has been allocated to run the raffle on this night.
