Our Club and the Rotary Club of Liverpool were issued 10 books each which we delivered on 24 Feb to 16 Babies born on 23 Feb in Liverpool Hospital to celebrate the 106th birthday of Rotary and promote child literacy. 16 Babies are born on average each day at Liverpool Hospital. David Ball and I met with Marie Tritsaris of the SWS Area Health Services Media and Communications Unit who took us on our rounds to meet the Mums and/or parents with their New Born and gift them a Babies Book entitled “Ten Little Fingers and ten Little Toes” written by Mem Fox and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, with an inscription on the inside cover from Rotary together with an endorsement from famous children’s author, Adelaide’s Mem Fox. Photo opportunities were taken were permission was granted and Marie will send same with a story to local papers to obtain a little PR for Rotary, should the editors choose to publish same. A copy of the inscription then follows.
