What is MUNA?
MUNA is part of an international Rotary Project to educate senior high school students (years 10 to 12) on the United Nations Organisation and its vital commitment to world peace along with health, education and living standards around the world. MUNA helps students to develop public speaking and debating skills along with the study of the customs, culture and problems of the world’s nations. Delegates attend MUNA wearing the national dress of the country they represent.
Where is it?         University of Western Sydney, Kingswood Campus
Who is there?              Teams (delegations) from around 35 high schools across the District will be at this year’s MUNA. This will be the 22nd year Rotary District (9690) has held MUNA.
How do we get involved? Nominations close on Friday 8 April 2011.Nomination forms are with your school, or may be downloaded from our website. Delegationsprepare for their exciting weekend by studying the history, politics, customs, geography and achievements of their represented countries. Each team of 2 delegates may also appoint a student-counsellor to assist in research and preparation for the Assembly. Counsellors also register and attend MUNA, so that teams may have a maximum of 3 members, with 2 delegates participating and voting on resolutions. Resolutions are issued to the team weeks before the Assembly.
How much is it going to cost?     
Early bird payment: $100 per team member and $50 per teacher, per team, where application and cheque are received by 8 April 2011. 
This fee covers all refreshment breaks and lunches on Saturday and Sunday. Contact your local Rotary Club for assistance with sponsorship of your team.
Who’s invited?               All schools in our District.
