The Inner Wheel Club of Combined Liverpool, mostly made up of the wives of Rotarians from the three local Liverpool Rotary Clubs held their April Fools Gala night at the Roma Classic, Liverpool on 1 April.
Congratulations to President Julia Calcopietro, who was well supported by all of the club and managed to raise net proceeds of $20,805.60 for the Liver Transplant Unit of Westmead’s Children’s Hospital. |

A substantial portion of the funds will be used to purchase Peri vascular probes which are expensive consumable items used to measure the flow of blood in Liver Transplant operations.
This effort is in addition to the 2008 Little Sweethearts Ball when President Barbara Houghton and the Inner Wheel Club raised enough funds to purchase the Liver Transplant unit a TEG® 5000 Thrombelastograph® Haemostasis Analyser. The Inner Wheel Club took up the cause of the Liver Transplant Unit after a Liver Transplant saved the life of Baby Ashton, grandson to long time member Hilary Hutchinson. |
