Sunday 17 April 2011 - the bi-monthly event was held in Freedom Plaza Cabramatta and was one of the more successful to-date. In excess of $5000.00 was donated by the generous community and members of the public. The usual BBQ was served and a number of volunteers undertook the cooking duties with a cuisine of eggs, bacon, sausages and onions being served on fresh bread rolls. The most sought after menu item was the "The Lot", which consisted of some of everything. Dr William Trinh could not resist and finally succumbed to temptation.
Both the NAB and the St George banks were generous with sponsorships toward the costs of conducting the event, in particular the food items.
Volunteers came from everywhere and their assistance with the numerous functions to make the day successful and fun was very much appreciated.
A special thank you is also directed toward the entertainment provided by a band that drew a crowd and mesmerised the crowd with a variety of songs and music.
This was the last BBQ/fundraiser before the trip to Vietnam and planning and organising work has commenced with plenty to do before departure. The next main event is the VVP Fundraising Function on Friday 17 June 2011 to be held at the Crystal palace Function Centre at Canley Heights.
See you all there! Congratulations to all who helped on the day!! Regards Ted Mlynarz |

Hi Ted, Thanks for your report and big "thank you' to all involved and congratulations to all for the successful day. I must admit the smell of BBQ was so great that I could not resist with the 'lot'. The balloons and footballs were the hot items with kids.
Cheers William.
Hi Ted, Thank you very much for the excellent Report. We're fortunate to have the support of a wonderful group of entertainers who gathered around Hieu, the talented musician on the keyboard. The crowd was indeed mesmerised by the band. Songs like "How to kill someone in a dream?", "You rise me up", and “Winter Wind", etc. attracted many fathers who sent their children in to donate money. Many female singers were also very attractive, and I suspect that like me, the fathers regretted that they're no longer available.
Cheers, Hong
