TONIGHT’S MEETING –
Tues 3 May 2011 – the Gift of a Smile – Barbara Wall - LCC, 6 for 6.30 pm
Barbara Wall Rotary District 9690 Interplast Chairman will attend to speak at the Liverpool West Rotary club and tell members of the wonderful work that Interplast does in the Asian region.
Barb Wall is a member of the Rotary Club of Upper Blue Mountains Sunrise and an ex-squash Professional having turned professional in 1973, the first Australian woman to do so.

A Busy Month in May – Are you ready? United we Stand!
• Cover charge of $40.00 pp for the Combined Services Dinner Night on 11 May maybe made tonight or at our meeting on 3 May. We are then responsible to run the Raffle on that night.
• The Westpac Helicopter Night at Aromas at Austral on 10 May maybe paid for on the night.
• The Red Shield Appeal is on 29 May for which volunteers need be sorted by 24 May.
• We then hold the Miller Student Awards night as a partners night on 31 May
CLUB REVIEW
Our Last Meeting – Our last meeting was April 19 when our PhD Scholar Rayan had to postpone our meeting and Brett Smyth of the Salvation Army was able to take her place and update us on the Liverpool West Youth Services program. A full report on the evening is offered under News & Reports, with thanks for the submission from PP Gary Halliday and Rayan has been rescheduled to present on Tues 14 June 2011
ANNOUNCEMENTS
2010/2011 Board - A board meeting is to be held on Friday 29 April at the residence of IPP Charles Hili, commencing 6.30 pm. President Peter has called for submissions for recognition of service of persons within our community.
2011/2012 Board - President Elect Ted Mlynarz has reported that all members of the incoming board have advised they will be attending District Assembly on Sunday 1 May at Details: St Mary's Senior High School, 6-48 Kalang Ave St Mary’s. The New Board is then President: Ted Mlynarz, President Elect / Club Administration: Shann O’Connell, Secretary/Membership: Charles Hili, Treasurer: David Goldston, Community Service Projects Director: Peter Beadle, Youth Service Projects Director: Bob Cook, Rotary Foundation / International Services Director: Joe Cauchi, Vocational Services Director: Jock Cimino, Public Relations Officer: Charles Hili, Immediate Past President: Peter Beadle.
Rotary Club of Liverpool West Changeover will now be 16 July 2011
Ted has announced the Changeover will now be held Saturday 16 July at Liverpool Catholic Club, 6.30 for 7 pm. Invitations are not too far away and the costs will likely be $65.00 per person. (TBC)
Satellite Club - District Governor Marilyn Mercer will visit the Satellite Club for their meeting of 3 May to be held 1pm at the Bar Luck Restaurant, Level 1, 94 John St, Cabramatta.
The Satellite Club is in early discussions for organising a Carols by Candlelight towards the end of the year which will likely include a sausage sizzle and coffee ran from inside the grounds of the Cabramatta swimming pool. Proposed as a joint event with member input welcome.
VVP – The Vietnam Vision Project Fundraiser will be held on Friday 17 June at the Crystal Palace, Canley Vale and the VVP Mission Trip will be from 23 July to 6 August, with 6 members attending; Ted Mlynarz, Charles Hili, Bob Groat, Jim Leahy, Joe Cauchi and Max Bunter.
Police Officer of the Year Committee - The next Police Officer of the Year committee meeting will be on Thurs 26 May 2011, 6 for 6.30 pm at June Young’s Residence: 118 Kendall Drive Casula.
Miller College Presentation Nights – We are still in the market for a volunteer to present a certificate at Miller College on Wednesday 11 May, 6.30 pm for the Carpentry & Joinery Graduation Night. This is the same night that we have a transferred meeting to the Combined Services night for which we are also to run the raffle. With our Raffle Officer away that night, we need 1 person to take charge of the Raffle and one person to attend the presentation. Should a volunteer nominate themselves for 1 of these activities, John Gibbs will do the other.

He has already sold his first one (picture is below so you can see what you are getting – they are from a cancelled Brisbane Hospital contract due to the cutbacks.)
