The first thing that stood out to Adrian, was that he left our Summer with Mid 30 degree temperatures to arrive about 30 hours later in Finland and be greeted by their Winter temperatures of minus 20 to 25 degrees. Fortunately his hosts gave him a warm greeting.
Soon after Adrian managed to visit Lapland where he got to experience minus 30 to minus 35 degree temperatures. Adrian was informed that minus 35 is too cold for skiing and that he had arrived to experience one of the harshest winters for Finland in 70 years.
Naturally when it is too cold for skiing, the in sport is swimming

Will the World End as we know it on 21 Dec 2012 as per the Mayan Calendar
The Rotary Clubs of Cabramatta and Liverpool West will argue: Yes it will.
The Rotary Clubs of Liverpool and Liverpool Greenway will argue: It won’t.
The Maya civilization collapsed around 1200 AD leaving behind plazas, monoliths, temples and pyramids, each decorated with pictures and hieroglyphs. Their civilization appears to be so advanced that it is believed they were in touch with extra – terrestrials.
We know the Maya existed, and their calendars have been correct so far.

The Toowoomba-based group is also liaising on a daily basis with Flood Coordination Centres in all affected areas in a bid to best match local requirements with the wide-ranging resources available through Rotary Clubs Australia-wide.

This was thought to be a very deserving award due to Adam's dual commitment to Policing and support of Rotary Programs. To say that Adam is community minded, to those that know him, it would be an understatement. The committee to NSW Police officer of the Year obviously agrees as Adam was awarded a 2nd sapphire to his PHF at the NSW Police Officer of the Year on 13 November 2010.
