MEETING 7 MAY 2024

President Tissa Perera reported that the Fathering Project that our Club is sponsoring at Liverpool will be holding its first session next week with fathers and children in attendance. Because of the diverse nature of the group five different interpreters are needed. Our Club is assisting with the catering costs.
Tissa also advised that he is pursuing the possibility of establishing a Turning the Wheel project in a local school.
Directors for the current year and the incoming Directors for 2024/5 we reminded that a Combined Board Meeting will be held immediately after the Member Meeting on 28 May 2024
New Members, we have had a potential new member – Craig Cox referred to us by District 9675, he will be attending our meeting on 14 May 2024. We also have 4 potential members from our night held on 30 April 2024.
Community Service Director John Pillay advised that we held another Feed the Homeless event in Martin Place on 6 May 2024 when we distributed 150 hot meals, fresh fruit (donated by Alan and Pauline Hall), 150 blankets, shoes and clothing. This is a great effort by those members involved and is greatly appreciated by those in need.
International Service Director Ted Mlynarz reminded those attending the AHHA Fund Raising Dinner on 26 May 2024 that payment is required at that the event is fully booked.
PP Jim Rudling is organising a table for the Cambodia Vision Fund Raising Dinner on 9 June 2024 and will be circulating a commitment sheet at the meeting on 14 May 2024.
Club Service Director Greg Gibbs advised that tickets are now available for the Liverpool Police Officer of the Year Function are available and he will be circulating a commitment sheet. Tickets are $80 per person and payment can be made at meetings or by direct deposit to the following bank account:
We will again be helping at All Saints Senior High School, Leacocks Lane, Casula from 8:30am to 12 noon on Sunday 26 May 2024 by providing a sausage sizzle and a fruit juice to the students who have volunteered to do collections on the day. We may be also called upon to drive students to their designated areas.
Cops and Kids School Gala Day
We have agreed to help out on this day to be held at Browns Farm Reserve, Hoxton Park on Monday 1st July 2024 from 9 am to 1:30pm
The day involves none contact games of rugby league, using tag belts (oz-tag), The event was first held in 2013 by the NRL and NSW Police force in Liverpool and continued until 2020 when unfortunately had to be postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic and this will be the first time we are restarting the gala day.
All schools across the Liverpool region have been invited, with pupils coming from a variety of different demographics and backgrounds (independent, catholic and government schools) and each team must contain 6 Boys and 6 girls (with a maximum of 4 boys on the field at one time).
Prior to the final, each team nominates a player who has shown great teamwork and best and fairest off the field (Not the just best player) – who will go and represent the school in a League Tag game against the Police.
Liverpool Catholic Club have been asked to donate sausages and onions for the day, we will be providing the hot dog rolls, sauces etc and using our BBQ Trailer.

Our Next Feed the Homeless Night in Martin Place, will be held on Monday 10 June 2024 at 6 for 6:30pm.

Bunnings require that we have at least 5 volunteers manning the site at all times.
If you are rostered to work and for any reason you are unable to attend it is your responsibility to arrange for someone to replace you and work your shift.
Tickets are $2 each,3 tickets for $5, 8 tickets for $10, or
20 tickets for $20.
We always have a good selection in wines for the major prizes and some other fun prizes.
